ratcreature: RatCreature smokes Crack (crack)
There have accumulated far fewer crossover recs than AU recs since my last recs updates several months ago, so that seemed less daunting.

My Brother's Keeper, by Ducks-in-a-row. Gen. (ca. 9,400 words)
House/Supernatural
Sam is in a coma for supernatural reasons, and Dean clashes with House and his team, all in a way that is a lot of fun to read. I think these mesh quite well because it's not like House's procedures and patient interactions are anything like happens in hospitals, so throwing in zombies does not stretch the House universe of wacky medicine too far.

The Noodle Fic, or Mama Bears Don't Stand Aside, by Tassos. Het, John/Aeryn. (ca. 13,290 words)
Farscape/Firefly
I've followed this as a WIP, and now it is finished and quite awesome. Don't mind the odd title, this is a solid crossover, in which John and Aeryn scrape by post-PKW, and end up working with Mal and his crew because they need a doctor for D'argo.

Bad Pennies, by Troyswann. Gen. (ca. 4,000 words)
MacGyver/Stargate: SG-1
This crossover seems like it could be right out of a MacGyver episode, only better because the SG-1 team is involved.
ratcreature: RatCreature feels sick. (sick)
I woke up at an absolutely ungodly hour this Saturday morning (yes, even earlier than now *grumble*), because my frelling nose is completely stuffed, and I have a cough that doesn't do much to dislodge the annoying viscous phlegm (I know that nobody is interested in reading about other people's phlegm, but that comes with the LJ territory now, doesn't it?), but just makes my throat feel even scratchier. Worse, both these things have prevented me from falling asleep again now for well over an hour. And neither the nasal salt water spray nor the soothing tea made much difference. It's not that I'm feeling particularly ill, there's no fever (at least not yet), nor any aches, however that I'm feeling icky rather than miserable doesn't make the lack of sleep any better. Anyway, I see some chamomile inhalations and the like in my near future to help me get rid of the gunk that's attempting to take over my respiratory system.

On the bright side (and so that at least the readers of this LJ may get something out of this entry that's not gross and/or boring) I read a cool short Firefly/various crossover fic just now, Eight Crazy Pilots Serenity Didn't Keep, by [livejournal.com profile] tassosss.

Some good crossovers I've read recently...

1967 Plymouth GTX Convertible, Black., by [livejournal.com profile] basingstoke. Slash, Dean/Gunn, Angel, Sam. (ca. 2,100 words)
Angel/Supernatural
This one is just a lot of fun. They first meet over anti-zombie supplies, there's banter, Sam and Angel are playing euchre... also Dean/Gunn!

Charm City by [livejournal.com profile] hth_the_first. Slash, Sam/Tim. (ca. 7,630 words)
Homicide: Life on the Streets/Supernatural
I've only watched Homicide sporadically, but the relationships here between Sam and Dean as well as Tim and Sam really pulled me in.

Today's Tom Sawyer (1/2) and (2/2), by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly. Gen, Sam and Ben. (ca. 5,000 words)
Dark Angel/Supernatural
In 2009 Sam runs across Ben, just after the X5 children escaped from Manticore.

The People You Meet, by [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch. Slash, Chris Keller/Rodney McKay. (ca. 8,300 words)
Oz/Stargate Atlantis
I rarely read crossovers when I just know one of the sources, but I followed a rec somewhere, and the story pulled me in. I have never actually watched any episode of Oz (so I can't judge Keller's characterization), but I think it is pre-series for Oz as well as for SGA. Anyway, it starts when Rodney gets robbed by Keller, and things get more complicated from there at a fast pace.

Case X-1743: Unresolved. by [livejournal.com profile] minisinoo. Het, Mulder/Scully, Jean/Scott. (ca. 24,500 words)
The X-Files/X-Men Movieverse
While still working on the X-Files Mulder and Scully investigate the incident at Scott's high school when his powers first manifested. Years later Mulder notices Scott during Jean's tv appearance and they meet again. The plot is mostly just about getting the characters together, but I really liked how the universes meshed here.

Untitled SGA/Traders series, by Sealie ([livejournal.com profile] jimandblair). Gen, John, Rodney, Carson, Grant.
Stargate Atlantis/Traders
This one is still a WIP, but so far I'm really enjoying it. It's a good take on the "Rodney and Grant are related" premise.

The Monster in the Closet, by Shaye ([livejournal.com profile] fourteenlines). Het, Rodney/Kaylee. (ca. 3,200 words)
Firefly/Stargate Atlantis
Rodney and Kaylee meet as prisoners of the Reavers, so it is rather dark.

Don't Mention the Wookies by [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon. Slash, McKay/Sheppard. (ca 1,400 words)
Stargate Atlantis/Star Wars
I waffled a bit whether this really counts as a real crossover, but I found its slightly wacky premise cute and funny, and it is definitely crossover-ish, so I included it in this rec set anyway.
