I've been floundering about, wondering why SW was so allergic to meta. My answer? A lot of people are set in their own beliefs.

I've been wondering about that too. I mean, there is some meta, but nothing like in HP where there's two dozen theories for every scene, event or character. And it doesn't seem to matter much for the meta volume that people have favorite theories that are unlikely to be swayed, they're still posting about those. I always thought it was maybe the SW infrastructure that causes me to miss meta posts, like that SW was perhaps less LJ-centric and meta is posted on boards or somewhere else where I'm not.
