I can see the point about getting a more accurate scrolling impression, and I don't object to people wanting to make commenting as easy as possible, for me it's just so aggravating for bookmarking (though that doesn't matter as much on IJ as on LJ because for some annoying reason there you never get proper browser window titles) that it dwarves the scrolling and the load time aspect. And personally I like to see other comments.
