ratcreature: RatCreature as Batman (batman)

I get what you mean with sparingly if he's some subconscious embodiment or a dream apparition, but I'd like to know more about him as a person, because he felt a bit "cardboard cutout" to me. I mean his character had potential for complexity, but somehow he wasn't around long enough for it to actually get beyond the initial 15 word description they had for him somewhere.

And I'm not sure revisiting and emotional trauma makes it less powerful. For example I don't know how often we've seen Bruce stand/kneel before either his parents' portrait or their grave and if the visuals (and the context) are right I still feel the impact of that imagery every time, and it doesn't lessen. It's the same when stories evoke the scene from Year One when Bruce decides on his Batman disguise, sitting in the chair with the bat flying at him. Those are just such powerful images for me, that evoking them doesn't diminish their effectiveness. For me, before the point of overkill with these images would be reached, I would need to see them far more often. I mean I don't want the stuff *retold* constantly, but seeing the reminders works for me when the art is right.

And I agree about the Social Services, it has to be one of the better ones. Though personally I've always thought that the Gotham Social Services didn't look at Bruce Wayne's wards (and things like their occasional injuries) too closely, because Bruce makes so many generous donations to Gotham...
