Sometimes I miss the USENET fandom culture because it was so hilariously (scarily?) over-the-top but since I'm easily stressed these days, I appreciate the control I now have over my fannish experience. It's also easier to be pan-fandom with my journal as the centralized area - I can write in any fandom I like on any given day, so for a small-fandom lover like myself, it's been a real boon.
