I mean it is one thing when there is actually a narrative reason for this kind of special effect, like when you have a character who moves so fast the others stand still, like what they did for Pietro in X-Men, but this was just to highlight fight moves. And used far too often. If it had been just once or twice at a climax I could have coped but this was all over the place.
Maybe he had unhealthy amounts of exposure to the Matrix at an impressionable age.
