...but the worst is that I accidentally keep "liking" posts even though my finger was nowhere near the "<3" button. And then I have to "un-like" things and then I fret about whether maybe people notice.

I'd just leave it, but in general I just don't favorite fic or text posts on Tumblr, nor gifsets or cute videos, just drawn artwork.

I think if you press "L" it likes whatever post is in focus, and that may be what is happening to you?

No, this is on a touchscreen Android device, and I don't have a keyboard visible. It happens when I scroll I think, and somehow it interprets my scrolling as having touched the heart field even though I am careful to avoid the corners of posts.

I probably should just stick to only browsing it on my computer where I can have xkit, don't need to see their idiotic ads, and don't like posts by freak accident. But I prefer my tablet in bed over a laptop.

You'd think they would make their app nice because it much increases the chance for people to see the ads, but instead it sucks even more.

It's not the heart icon only--if your finger stays on the image for a certain length of a picosecond or a certain pressure, it registers as a like. Instagram is the same thing. It's impossible to scroll sometimes without hitting that image at whatever length or pressure is required to have it register a like.

That is obnoxious. But it does explain my problem and especially why it often happens to me with longer text posts which require more contact to scroll pat.

have you tried washboard.ws? It's the only way to view tumblr on mobile I find non-obnoxious.

No, I haven't heard of it. Is this trustworthy? I mean I am a bit suspicious to log in through some random site? What do they get out being an alternate Tumblr webinterface?
