Sometimes it seems like some writers hope that people will read the issues a month apart and just forget about the plot completely, or something like that. I'm actually fairly good with remembering plots, even if parts a one or two months apart, as long as they make sense. It's much harder to keep things in your memory that are kind of gibberish and confusing, so in those cases I actually (re)read it as one chunk, and I really make an effort to read things carefully if they're hard to follow, but I swear, I've read "avantgarde" art comics with surrealist dreamscape events that had clearer, easier to follow plots than some of the "crime" and "action adventure" stuff you find in superhero comics.
