Yeah, that's the meaning I had read about in the lexicon, that it was a term in US politics in the 1880s, and it made me wonder what it says about the International Confederation of Wizards that they chose this word for their leader. Though I think it's probable that they were either using it even before that (Is there canon when the confederation was founded? I don't remember.) and/or were totally muggle-ignorant in the usual wizard fashion, and derived it directly from that Algonquian word. Though that is also interesting, because it makes me wonder whether Native American wizards may have played a significant role in forming their International Confederation. Like maybe whether there was a North American predecessor to the confederation that was formed by Indian tribes, or something.
