some drawings...

So today on the underground I used my time to draw my avatar in some poses for icons I want to have, and I really quite like how the pencils turned out. So I decided to post them before I turn them into their small, cropped icon versions.







I think my favorite is the Scared!RatCreature in the Meeep! one, I like how the slightly catoony body language turned out.

Also, I want to have a Geek!RatCreature, but I have no idea what it ought to show. The problem isn't so much giving it a typical geek look, as that I have no idea what a typical "geek pose" could be, and anything involving computers is out, since I already have my "computer voodoo" and RL? What RL?" icons that both show my alter ego with computers. Any ideas, anyone?

Geek-wise, perhaps something like my icon of Babs? It's geeky without involving an actual computer.

Heh, a pocket protector, good idea. I actually could use one of those for real, considering how often pens ruin my pockets, but sadly I have no idea where things like that might be sold (I never noticed them being on sale anywhere) and have never seen anyone I could have asked using one either.

Cool icon, unfortunately I think code projected on glasses like that wouldn't come across well in the type of cartoony style I use.

You know, perhaps I should do a MadScientist!RatCreature with a death raygun or something like that...

A bit obsolete though, no? Also probably nobody would recognize it for anything other than a ruler by the time the image is shrunk to icon size...

Perhaps your Rat Creature avatar could do a mad scientist thing with a labcoat, ominously bubbling beakers and tubing over a bunsen burner, a vial held high in the air and a scarily gleeful expression. You know, one step away for Frankenstein!RatCreature.

Yeah, that could work. I actually even have done a sketch of a Scientist!RatCreature in a labcoat a while ago, which should be around somewhere *looks over at some disorganized paper piles*, maybe that kind of motif could be adapted into a Geek!RatCreature if it is made look a bit dorky.
