CSI season finale thoughts

The Grissom/Sarah scene at the end was done for shock value, right? That is I didn't miss, like, a whole romance subplot this season that would make it somehow logical for Gil and Sarah to have this bedroom/pillow talk pre- or post-sex scene, did I?

I mean, I'm neither vehemently pro nor anti GSR, so I wouldn't be surprised had I missed subtle shifts in their UST status, but I think I would have noticed had there been a whole relationship/character subplot, even as fragmented and secondary personal stuff is with CSI sometimes. So was there some actual build-up I missed?

However that scene with Gil and Greg when Greg asks him how he spends his time with Jim, asking about dinner and movie dates, was very cute, IMO. Greg so has a crush and wishes Grissom would "hang out" with him instead.

I also enjoyed how Sarah and Gil were kind of silly geeks at the reenactment site with their cameras, much more than their jarring bedroom scene in any case.

Huh. That is interesting. What surprised me about the ending is, I think, that I sort of misread what was happening. I assumed that, for reasons I didn't quite understand, they were reminding us that Sarah and Griss weren't going to be a couple by having her flirt while he continually rebuffed her all ep., and I was like, "What's the point of this?" and then it was just weird to see them at the end, especially given that all the discussion during the episode was suggestive of violence (the cunt that stings, Sarah and Griss shooting at each other).

Anyway... I don't get it. I don't particularly love it. And given Griss seemed to like Dom woman, I can't see what the appeal of Sarah is supposed to be for him.

I'm also kind of annoyed because he's still sort of her boss.

Yeah as far as het ships go I'd much rather see more Heather/Gil than Gil/Sarah too.

Have you heard of ANY fan liking the ending to this episode? I certainly haven't. As was posted earlier -- it was just cheap. I also felt patronized. And worst of all it was just so badly written and acted.

Someone better wake up from a dream on the season premier or something.

I never liked the whole Lady Heather thing either. That also seemed to be there just for the shock value.

Give him a smart woman like Terry from season 1 or leave him alone.

And since I;m on a rant -- does anyone wish they would bring back the humor they used to have?

Well, I don't read a lot of CSI meta, and don't frequent Gil/Sarah shipper forums, so I have no idea how people who really like that pairing took that ep. As for Lady Heather, I rather liked her, shock value or not, and she with Grissom can push a lot of my kink buttons if handled right, so I'm more likely to cut storylines with her more slack, whereas Gil/Sarah leaves me more or less "blah. whatever." in general (though there's the rare fanfic exception where I like the pairing).
