Thankfully I got home before the frelling football game ended. It's crazy outside with the honking cars and the chanting and yelling and such after Germany won. I certainly wouldn't want to be in public transport now. This also means there will be even more of the blasted flags decorating everything, and people putting the silly things on their cars and such. It'll be even more insufferable for someone not into football. I need a grumpy icon... No offense to football fans, it's just that it's so omnipresent that it's oppressive.

I think about half the cars rouns here have those bloody England flags on them.

I can't wait until the damn thing's over.

Yeah, lots of cars have flags here too. You see them on at least half the houses as well, though while the majority is German there's a good number of other flags as well, lots of Brazilian and Italian. Some people also seem rather confused in their loyalties, like today I've seen a bunch of cars and at least one bicycle displaying both Argentinian and German flags.

And by now the cacophony outside is joined by frequent police and fire engine sirens.... >.<

There will be a new surge of crazy later tonight, because the game Italy:Ukraine takes place here, actually the arena is not that far from where I live, not quite my direct neighborhood, but the bordering one close enough that I get to hear the helicopter patrols they seem to do sometimes for some World Cup related reason. And especially should Italy win the sizable Italian minority will certainly celebrate. Not to mention the Italian fans who travelled here...

Thank goodness we're into the elimination rounds. Another few weeks and it'll be done at last!
