I'm glad you like it. I think just making it visibly characters we know instead of just two random guys automatically adds expression in our perception, because it just has more layers when you look at something with characters rather than bodies in mind.
That's why personally I really like drawing superheroes in their costumes more than having them naked even in my slashy fanart, because it makes sure they are present as the characters immediately for the viewer (and myself). Well, that I have a slight armor/weapons fetish doesn't hurt either (visually I find them just hotter in costume or partial costume than just naked *g*).
