that newest SGA tie-in novel, Entanglement

After seeing a rec by [livejournal.com profile] iamza I've now read Entanglement by [livejournal.com profile] marthawells. It's a fast-paced action-adventure set in the second season shortly after Ronon joined the team, with an interesting plot involving Wraith, Ancient tech, and some history of the Ancients leaving Pegasus, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I think I would have like it even better if Teyla had had more to do (but then I think that of the show a lot as well), but plenty of Sheppard kind of made up for that to me. Anyway, it was fun to read.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it as well! I loved that it had so much Sheppard -- the last SGA novel I read was very McKay-centric.

Hopefully the new season of SGA will have Teyla playing a more important role. I also wouldn't mind if Ronon got to be more than hulk bodyguard/tame team savage...

Heh, I've read all of the SGA novelizations, except the first (The Rising looked to be simply a novelization of the pilot, so I skipped that one).

Exogenesis (http://iamza.livejournal.com/283243.html) was okay, but very McKay centric (link is spoilery). Also made a stupid geo-science mistake, which pulled me out of the story.

Halycyon was okay, but nothing to write home about.

And, from elsewhere in the midsts of time: "I liked Relinquary, but thought it probably could have done with another edit to remove dialogue/scenes not essential to the story. And I'm still in the process of reading The Chosen, and, so far, thoroughly enjoying it. (Not least because Rodney's in the wrong. For once. Also, the Exxon Valdiz jokes amuse me)."

(Before Entanglement, I think The Chosen was probably my favourite of the SGA novels).

I haven't read any of the SG-1 novels, though.

And yeah, that's true for Ronon as well, but here it didn't bother me so much because he was still so new to their team.

That's a good point, and one I hadn't considered.

Novels, not novelizations. Sorry.
