thematic list update

I've updated my SGA thematic list for alien cultures, which lists SGA fic that features human Pegasus cultures prominently or even in an interesting plot-device way, i.e. basically anything that isn't the "aliens make them do it" genre (unless the focus were very much the culture and its reasons to require visitors to engage in sexual relations, rather the "there was a random, irrational fertility ritual *hand-wave*, so John and Rodney have sex" kind) or standard plot-device usage (meaning things like "randomly violent natives attack the team for h/c purposes" and such, but we never really learn about the aliens in-depth) or merely token appearances, but shows Pegasus aliens as having a culture in their own right.

I hadn't updated in a couple of months, so there's a number of new links, also as always I'm happy if anyone points me to stories I missed. The same goes for my two other thematic lists for Wraith/Iratus bug transformations and for stories with John Sheppard as Ancient, Ori or Ascended.

I love your lists. They are so addictive and every time you update I have this urge to first, read everything I haven't read yet, and second read everything I've read before and loved.

So yeah, good thing it's still the weekend.

I know this effect well. Whenever I go through my bookmarks to update my pages I end up re-reading stuff as well.

This is really a fantastic list - thank you for maintaining it! I still haven't read all of the stories on here; added to del.icio.us so I'll have it handy the next time I need something to read.

One that's not on the list is Eternity by kriadydragon: http://kriadydragon.livejournal.com/63484.html - it's a really gorgeous AU (mostly gen, with a Sheppard/OFC side pairing) in which the expedition is forced to abandon Atlantis when faced with a new, Ori-like enemy, and Sheppard, alone, flies the city to a new galaxy, where he makes a life for himself as a wayfarer in his really extraordinary ship.

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll make sure to add it in the next update. And since I don't think I've read that before, I can look forward to fic I missed too. :)

McKay/Sheppard. 19,131 words. SG-1 is assigned to Pegasus just as Team Sheppard arrives back injured with the exception of Teyla, who temporarily joins Team Lorne. Petty jealously, unrequited lust, and general misunderstandings ensue.

Like minnow1212's Five Times John Has Left Someone Behind (http://minnow1212.livejournal.com/260995.html), which is already listed, John spends quality time as "a glowy-quasi-Ascended-sentient-energy-weapon-being-thing," lol.

Thanks for these fantastic resources! I really appreciate the effort needed to keep so many links updated and stay abreast of such an active fandom, having tried my sanity on a similar project. ^^;;

No problem. Though I just noticed I mistyped "jealousy" in the summary. (Why didn't I copy and paste that? Seriously! What I was thinking?! ^^;;) Also, other pairings in the fic include Teyla/Lorne and one-sided Sheppard/Mitchell.
