Bones

As if the bizarre last season finale wasn't enough, Bones continues to throw random character and relationship twists at the audience that make no sense and are not properly set up. Now they make Angela and Hodgins break up? Because they suddenly realize they don't "trust" each other, just because the ex-husband's presence caused tension? What?

It's not quite as bad a twist as what they did to Zack, but it is not making up for it either. Also, the whole "Booth and Brennan do London" plot wasn't as amusing for me as I suspect it was supposed to be.

God, yes. Booth just comes off as a jackass during his initial "I hate England" screed. I also hated that we didn't find out who was the real killer (and that Booth and Bones just sat there and accepted it).

I second to the millionth power the whole WTF of Angela and Hodges. Two years of relationship down the drain in five minutes because of some jealousy issues? Bad, bad writing.

It's the annoying thing about shows that work romances into the plot. And I think the problem is that we're trained to believe that the story ends with a woman's marriage (well, the woman's story ends), and there's nothing romantic about marriage, so the only thing you can do with a married couple is turn the show into a sitcom in which the man gets stupid and the woman complains about and yet is resigned to the husband's foibles.

Gah. Patriarchy sux.
