I just finished my Trekreversebang art

I'll take a final look at it tomorrow, well technically today only not at three in the morning under crappy artificial light, to look at it with fresh eyes and maybe make a some final corrections before scanning, but it is done.

I mean, I know some of the shadows are crap because I had no real idea how shadows from these light sources would look if they were real (two fires, daylight from an opening above that is brighter than the fires, reflective surfaces, all kinds of complicated forms...), the metal looks not all that metallic (why are all the metal tutorials I could find for digital painting?), and I think I gave Uhura a slightly too dark skin color -- but whatever. It's the best I can manage.

It took me forever to paint the thing as it is, not least because my time has much more fragmented than usual recently due to all the running too and fro due that comes with the current family stuff.

And my posting date is Monday, so I even have a bit of leeway to manage the scanning should my desktop crap out on me again. (The problems I had once before where the desktop just refuses to boot have started up again a few days ago. And while I carefully wriggled the stupid memory card which was helped before and that helped again, I do not trust its functioning to be reliable, so I can't do the scanning at the last moment. Argh.)

Congrats on being done - I can't wait to see how it turned out.

Here's to not having technical difficulties scanning. There's nothing more frustrating than uncooperative equipment.

Congrats! :D

I've been struggling with my art for the SGA reverse bang -- I'm not sure whether to go with something really generic, or more detailed that's going to make the author's job harder. Aargh, decisions ...

*nods* Yeah, that's what I'm struggling with - most of the ideas I can think of are pretty detail-heavy and specific, and while I think they'd make a fun story, I don't want to leave the poor writer struggling to fit a bunch of extraneous details into their story. But I hate to just go with something super-generic that doesn't give them much to work with either ...
