LJ comment weirdness?

I just posted an LJ comment, and even got the email copy of said comment sent to me (and the poster seems to have gotten a notification too), but the comment is nowhere to be seen in the post itself, even though I can also see it on my recent comments management page. What happened to that comment? Did it fall into some void between the email notification and the site post? Has this happened to others? Will the comment turn up eventually? This is very odd.

ETA: It eventually showed up and became visible. I still wonder whether this is some known issue.

Huh, that is odd - their slowdowns don't usually involve comment processing. I assume it wasn't a moderated comment as, if nothing else, it tells you so after you submit it.

No, it wasn't screened. And even then you yourself can still see it, just others can't. After I posted I remembered that some days ago I had replied to a post, and the poster answered, and I got a comment notification, but some moments later I got another comment from the poster being puzzled that their first reply never showed, and indeed the first comment I got an email notification for wasn't visible in the post. That seems to have been the same bug. And on the LJ version of this post I got comments from other people to whom this happened, that comments did not show, but notifications for them were there, and then the comment became visible some hours later. I filed a support request, because really this is annoying and should be fixed and I hope more reports will help them maybe track this down.

Yeah, considering it's one of the most basic parts of their services, I hope they get right on it! Very odd.

Have had that happen with comments. Someone commented on a post of mine. I got the email about it, but when I went to the link in question it wasn't there. Refreshed and shift refreshed for AGES and, still, nothing. Showed up later on, but yeah, never did figure out what happened.

I remember that a few days ago when I commented on a post the poster replied, and I got an email notification and then soon after a second reply in which they complained that the first comment vanished, and indeed it wasn't there when I clicked. That seems the same bug.

I now filed a support request to find out what's going on with the comments and whether they are working to fix this, because this is seriously annoying.

I've had it happen to me ... and yeah, eventually they do show up, but it's annoying and has sometimes resulted in me double-posting comments because I wasn't sure if the first one posted or not.

I guess this is better than if they vanished outright, but it is still annoying and should be fixed. I filed a support request.
