I dropped out of the sgareversebang because I had procrastinated so much that turning my concept scribbles into pencils in time for this Sunday's rough draft deadline depended on being able to draw yesterday and today, as I had planned. Only then RL didn't cooperate at all.

It's the first time I dropped out of a challenge (not that I've done many), and it rather sucks. I also regret that now there won't be a story for my picture idea, but it couldn't be helped. :(

Oh no! I'm very sorry to hear that.

I've been struggling with mine too. I ended up procrastinating 'til the last minute and forgetting we were going to have company all weekend (my husband's family is staying with us). So I had to scrap the complicated design I was planning, and go for a much more simple, single-figure design rather than the ensemble I'd had in mind -- something I could draw quickly in my spare time rather than needing a ton of reference material and sketches.

Yeah, my idea unfortunately wasn't simple at all, but a team ensemble, i.e. four people, plus an animal, and not in canon clothing but in other clothing (so references for costume), plus I envision a fairly complicated background for this with a library with maps and steampunkish gadgets... so yeah.

Ouch. Yeah. Mine was going to be a team ensemble with dinosaurs and a crashed puddlejumper and a bunch of alien scenery. Bad idea, especially since apparently I'm terrible at drawing dinosaurs without tracing from something.
