Merlin reaction
I liked this more than I expected from the trailer last week. Especially I appreciated that Elena only got slightly more princess-like after the Sidhe was removed, and didn't have an extreme personality change. I quite liked her character.
And I enjoyed the parts with Uther and Arthur, and Arthur being torn between resistance and compliance with the marriage demand. Also I always like supportive!Merlin. I also like that Merlin is now more often shown to learn from Gaius also about the herbs and such, both this week and the last. At least it's my impression that it's more prominent this season than the last.
Merlin's horror upon being made to consider that Gaius may have a sex life was great, because to me it didn't feel like the humor was of the "old people sex is icky" kind, but that Merlin's reaction was due to the aversion you have (especially as teenager) to think of your parents' (and similar figures') sex life, while Gaius' rebuke seemed to imply that he has a sex life (just not with unattractive pixies), and only was uncomfortable to talk about it with Merlin.
Anyway, overall this ep was fun.
