it wasn't even any darker...

There was a partial solar eclipse here this morning, but it was so completely overcast and started still early in the morning (well, not early by hours, but not that long after sunrise), that I didn't even notice it being any darker, even though the sun supposedly was covered 74% at the height of the eclipse in my location.

Hmm, maybe that's why it seemed like sunrise came really late here? Although, how much darker does the sky even get in a partial eclipse? We had clouds here as well, so I don't even know if I should have expected to notice the difference...

(I've never witnessed a solar eclipse, partial or otherwise, in my life, until today, and apparently I missed that one, too!)

I saw the total one from 1999 I think it was? I didn't bother to get one of those special glasses or anything even for that one, and iirc conditions weren't too great then, here, but that was noticeable.
