I love that Magneto answers his door in full costume, complete with helmet. Well, I suppose you never know when it's going to be a telepath at the door!

Well, he doesn't seem the type to compromise his outfit. He probably has a good reason in his head, like maybe building a new mutant society from scratch means rejecting the human society's notions on what looks appropriate, and since he doesn't have fur or scales he wears an impractical cape, garish colors and added those horn decorations to the helmet to break the human style conditioning. Or something. I'm sure there are mutant theorists in the movement who can eventually explain this. And Halloween is one of the dates when he can indulge in his broken fashion sense new mutant aesthetics without any added risk even!

Mutant fashion theory is an undervalued subject! Though if he has metal in that cape (and I'm sure he does) it's probably pretty practical...

Yes, I bet before too long mutants will have all kinds of more or less convoluted theorists in their movement(s). I'd love that to come up in fic more often as worldbuilding in the background, like in that bakery AU I read with the mutant performance art. I really liked that. (I don't know whether you read that, but I meant New Beautiful Things Come, which you should check out if you haven't already even if Modern bakery AUs aren't your thing.)
