Tumblr, why do you change your interface all the time?

Is it just me, or did the posting interface get even more baffling? Admittedly on the list of their idiosyncratic interface choices this change doesn't rank very high, but why do they have to rearrange things all the time? I'm not one of those people who like to move their furniture around weekly.

Tumblr seems particularly dedicated to being unusable! It seems to be their niche.

And yet bafflingly, they are being used by millions. The power of the herd instinct. I mean, joined the service in 2007, and then promptly gave up on using it after one attempt to post a photo. Yet over four years later, with their interface not having gotten any better, here I am, because inexplicably in the intervening time a critical mass of people has decided to use it.

Isn't their new interface awful? It's slower, more cumbersome, and I was very confused by how to post to my secondary Tumblr for the longest time. I'm still having problems with tagging. Why, Tumblr, why so horrible? People who complain about LJ have no frickin' clue. And yet, as you say elsewhere, millions are on Tumblr. Including us! Hmm.

Yes, their "improvements" are rather the opposite. A typical case of "Verschlimmbesserung".
