a Tumblr question

Is there a way to get rid of that annoying "answertime" thing that shows at the top of your dashboard now? I usually don't even know these people (presumably famous ones?) that are asked questions. I couldn't find an option or extension in xkit.

I haven't seen it, but I don't know if that's because I've already gotten it blocked or I haven't been assaulted by it yet. I'd search for it in the tags -- that's usually where I find fixes for tumblr annoyances. The answer is usually a greasemonkey script or the best triggers to add to XKit or Adblock or Tumblr Savior.

In the answertime tag there only seem to be a ton of the resulting posts with questions to celebrities. I don't see the "ask such and such a question" thing if I view my dash in the Tumblr app or in Chrome on my Android tablet, but it sits there obnoxiously in Firefox.

ETA: Actually it seems the thing just doesn't show permanently but only when some question event is going on, it had only seemed to show constantly whenever I checked Tumblr recently (which isn't necessarily every day). But this afternoon there isn't an "ask a question" field showing, even in Firefox, whereas yesterday there was. So maybe your timing for being on Tumblr just has been lucky so far.
