...because I really feel that a Captain America/Calvin & Hobbes fusion should exist, with of course little Steve as Calvin (and his long suffering single mom Sarah), who instead of Hobbes has a stuffed bear called Bucky, and dreams up adventures where he is Captain America (rather than Spaceman Spiff) and fights the Red Skull as one of the disgusting monsters. Though Bucky!Bear would of course be the trusted, if exasperated, sidekick in those adventures, unlike Hobbes, who iirc usually wasn't featured in the Spaceman Spiff strips.

I'm really astonished nobody has done this already, as art or fic. I mean, Buckybears are popular as theme, right? And Steve as a kid must have been about as high maintenance as Calvin, if in slightly different ways. And Steve & Bucky are best friends like Calvin & Hobbes. It would fit so well.

Yeah, I feel they would go together like chocolate and hazelnuts. And you could fit other characters too. I mean, like I feel Peggy would fit well in Susie Derkin's role as the slightly more sensible but still awesome neighbor's kid.

Part of me really wants to do fanart again (with a potential carrot for my inner sloth no less), and I've done Calvin & Hobbes inspired fusion pieces before, but I haven't really managed anything for ages. Pretty much since my father died, though I'm not sure it was directly grief related. I hope that at some point I maybe can manage to motivate myself again.
