DW interface question

After seeing several posts on my reading page about access list editing, I went to the DW "Manage Circle" page myself to see how many inactive journals are in my circle (kind of depressing to see), and I noticed the second column in that table, that either has an asterisk or not, and I have no idea what that signifies. I don't remember whether I knew at some point and forgot, or just never noticed before, but now I'm wondering about this. What is that column?

I just checked my "manage circle" page and I also can't figure out what the asterix means.

It's really weird. It's not for indicating mutuals, also not for paid accounts or something like that. I looked at the FAQ but didn't find an explanation there either.

Huh. As far as I can see, it seems to be just an extra indication to highlight who you've subscribed to. That's the only correlation I'm finding.

ETA: The background colour is lighter. So maybe they probably just added the extra column as a work-around, instead of messing with with coding inside the Subscribe column itself to highlight who you're subscribed to.

That fits. I didn't think of that because the labelled subscribe ticky box is right behind it, and it seems a bit redundant, but I guess if you un/check tickies you have an indication of the previous state.
