I'm baaack! :)
I've been more or less gafiating from fandom and LJ the last couple of months, mostly because I felt about as energetic as an inert blob. I'm still not exactly feeling bouncy or anything, but recently I find myself starting to compose blog entries in my head again, and taking more interest in fandom and such, so I figure now is as good a time as any to get back to posting and reading my flist.
I'm afraid I don't even have any exiting RL-related stories or news to bring back to you, as I have done nothing noteworthy or interesting in the recent months in RL either. (Unlike some of my immediate family, like my brother quite suddenly decided to work in Tajikistan of all places a while ago, and has been there for a couple of weeks now...)
I'm also woefully behind with my reading of current comics, but while browsing LJ I noticed that there's now a community to collect links to DC reviews and commentary, i.e.
dc_clocktower, so eventually I can find all the comic talk I missed without wading through lots of blogs and LJs.
As the first outlet for my recovering fannish energy I decided to finally update my AU recs page again. During that task I once again noticed that I really should take notes on the stories I want to rec right after I read them. My current modus operandi is that I bookmark any AU I want to rec in a special folder and go through that when I want to update. Which is okay as long as I update frequently, my memory for stories and why I liked them isn't that bad. However last time I updated my recs page was in January, and it turns out that I can't quite recall all of the over a dozen stories in that bookmark folder in detail anymore. *facepalm*
I guess I'll just have to reread or at least skim some of them. For now I settled for updating the page with seven new AU recs (for HP and Batman comics AUs), and get to the bookmarked stories I don't remember that well for a later update. I also fixed broken links and such, that accumulated in the months without maintenance. *curses linkrot*
Anyway, I'm moderately optimistic that this time it won't be months until my next post, and I hope that the couple of people who, strange as it is, have actually friended my LJ while I was absolutely silent won't be disappointed to suddenly see posts from that strange, quiet person they added. *grin*

(Really, you should be impressed, it's a fair bit of work to get all the ingredients together - a poutine, a mountie, and an igloo.)

Thanks for the welcome dance. I have no idea what a poutine is, but anything involving igloos and mounties can only be good. :)

Personally, I think they're kinda manky, but it's a Canadian tradition. *shrugs* If you'd prefer, I could always offer-up BeaverTails (they're a type of pastry) or maple sugar.
