weird nightmare...
First, let me say that I blame the fact that I now have bunnies (!) appearing in my nightmares completely on
seperis and her rabbit stories.
Anyway, in this nightmare I was in my comic store to get my weekly comics, and it was fairly crowded. Then when I had gotten my comics there were these two guys who had a pet rabbit with them, only I didn't notice that it was theirs at first, but it distracted me by being all cute, and furry and bunny-like (or apparently not so bunny-like since according to
seperis' accounts they're vicious creatures) so that meanwhile one of the guys could take my bag with comics in the crowded store unnoticed. By the time I did notice despite the rabbit distraction he was already gone. The truly nightmarish part (beyond having my comics stolen) however had only started, when I caught up with the two at the underground station and tried to get my comics back, as it turned out that they were some kind fundamentalist born-again Christians, who'd insist on preaching at me (at length) before agreeing to give my comics back. So I spent the latter half of my nightmare in an underground station (which happened to be extraordinarily creepy btw), listening to some wacky sermon as they tried to proselytize me, all just so I could get my comics. WTF subconscious?!?

Gah!! Do you have many of those there? I'd rather hoped that the US had sort of cornered on the market on Christian fundies.
Which comics do you read? Marvel? DC? Independents? (Does the comic industry break down that way in the UK?) I used to read everything X-Men related. Now I'm just reading 'Fables' and 'Strangers in Paradise'.

I read all kinds of comics. I've been a comic fan and collector since before I could even read. Obviously I started with children's comics, both Disney and the Franco-Belgian kind (like Asterix, Spirou and such), and then mostly read European comics and American Independent comics, until a couple of years ago I started reading Amazing Spider-Man because JMS is writing it and I generally love his stuff and
Anyway, as far as superhero comics go I read mostly DC, on the Marvel side I only pick up stuff occasionally, currently I read the regular Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Astonishing X-Men, and I read other Spider-Man and Daredevil books if I like the authors and/or artists. On the DC side I am quite behind in my reading, but in general I'm most into the Batfamily, with Dick Grayson as a my clear favorite, also titles with Arsenal/Roy Harper and Tim Drake/Robin III in them, meaning that I'll read Teen Titans and Outsiders and sometimes Green Arrow. I'll read JLA and Superman titles only if I like the writer, but I do have a longbox or two with such in them, the same goes for other DC stuff. Since I love Elseworlds as much as I love AUs in fanfic I'm more likely to pick those up, even if I'm unfamiliar with the creative team though.
As far as other comics published unter the various DC imprints go, I used to read some Authority, and currently Fables (though I'm behind with that), Y: The Last Man, Hard Time, and DMZ.
From other publishers I read Powers, Kabuki, Strangers in Paradise, Rising Stars, obviously I used to read Bone (see my username *g*)... Really I'm sure I forgot some, I have thousands of comics.

I loved Sandman! I still have such a huge girly crush on Death.
I'm several issues behind on Fables, but that's on purpose; I'm trying to hold out until each TP comes out.
