SGA 3x05 Progeny...
I completely understood why the Asurans felt betrayed by the Ancients. Also my impressions of the latter are becoming more sinister (and incompetent) by the episode.
I mean, first they create yet another sentient race, then insist on limiting their evolutionary potential, even though they pleaded to be not inherently aggressive, then the Ancients messed up their "failsafe" in that their robot law apparently only protects Ancients, rather than limit their killing machines to aggressive only towards the Wraith and harmeless towards all others (which IMO would have made far more sense considering how durable those robots are), rather than make them dangerous to everyone but the Ancients, and then cover up their mess and delete all information that could have helped their descendants. I'm really loosing all my sympathy towards the Ancients.
Also I don't get why Niam betrayed his own people like that. I get why dissident group at first helped the team for a chance to get their programming changed, but not why Niam continued to help them when it became clear that they wouldn't honor their deal, but blow them up regardless, because the risk of leaving the ciy to attack them was too great.
It was a fun episode to watch though, and the flying city was cool.
