maybe I'm not a GUI-type person...
I wanted to take a look at Movable Type to check out its features, and I had no problem with any of the installation process, and I didn't need to consult any of the trouble-shooting stuff, and then I created a new user like the instructions said, assuming, since I couldn't find a "renaming" option in that frelling GUI that I could create a new one and delete the old, like I did in Greymatter. However when I deleted the original user it failed to give the new user all relevant power, yet still I could delete the "master user." That was very insidious, since then I had no way to customize things anymore or to assign rights, or to create blogs, and I couldn't even figure out how to manually give the remaining user these rights in the database via the MySQL interface of my webhost. The only way I knew how to fix that was to delete all of its databases manually and run the database creation script again (it didn't have any entries so it wasn't that bad), but this is really hazardous. The super user of a system shouldn't be able to delete herself accidentally without another superuser remaining.
With the second try I found the renaming option, which wasn't under "edit authors" but in "edit your profile." I found that out because as a powerless user (the type which seems to be the one automatically added) I only had that menu option.
All in all I can say that installing the CGI scripts and stuff was much easier than the "intuitive" GUI so far. Grr.
