ratcreature: RatCreature as Sam and Dean. (sam and dean)

this week's Supernatural...

I'm not entirely sure why, but I have to admit that I found the episode kind of boring. The scenes with Dean and the demon and how Dean lures it into a trap after all were kind of neat, and I appreciated Sam and Dean's continuing demon angst and their conversations about John and his deal, that even seemed to have progressed a bit, but the plot of this episode just didn't hook me.

There wasn't a lot of suspense for me, even though the scenes with Dean and the demon were tense. Perhaps it was because Sam didn't get to do anything really exiting while holding the hellhound off.

I know that some people always find Supernatural's monster plots predictable, but I'm usually at least somewhat into the weekly monster cases. I mean, I realize that they often don't hold up to intense nitpicking, and that Supernatural's individual monsters don't all coalesce into a coherent real monster mythology, but for the most part I enjoy their cases.

However, there were lots of little bits that made me squee, like the scene at the beginning when Dean teases Sam about being less notorious.

And the montage at the end definitely worked for making me curious about the upcoming episodes.

I love that Dean had never ever heard of MySpace.

I thought last night's ep was the best of the last several. I do wish Sam had more to do, but the scenes between Dean and the demon made the ep for me. As did the scene at the end where Sam questions him and you realize how close Dean was to making the deal. Great stuff.

As for the monster stuff, I liked it when the people's faces got all grey and looked like "The Scream" - would have liked to see more of those creepy folks than invisible hellhounds.

The montage ROCKED.

Oh good, not just me. However, the previews look interesting, and I see Sam's broken out the pink shirt again, always a sign of an episode where he is manly.

…possibly I am making that up because it WOUNDS ME to see him wearing that pink shirt, but the pink episodes I remember are Home and Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things.

Somehow the pink ones really… leap out at me.
