somewhat disjointed SGA episode comments
This episode felt oddly like it was just setting up the stage for something. I mean, they now have this geothermal power station thing and a not-exploded, mostly functional Wraith cruiser, and I really hope that those are going to be used for something in the upcoming eps.
I found it jarring that Elizabeth went exploring with them because it really didn't make much sense for her to be there. It's not that I don't want her to have screentime and things to do, but it seemed kind of forced that she went along, especially on the first trip to that station.
I liked that the Wraith was smart after taking over Teyla's mind and didn't give herself away with some gloating bad guy speech. Of course on the downside it showed that our heroes again weren't cautious enough. I enjoyed that Teyla was more central to the action this episode, though it was a bit disappointing that we didn't really find out anything new about her, but just revisited her Wraith connections.
The way they tricked the Wraith queen with her own mindreading reminded me of how they beat the replicators, though it wasn't exactly the same. Then again, why shouldn't they reuse tactics that worked before.
At the end I was surprised that John apparently hadn't at least dived to the side when Rodney was firing that machine gun into the Wraith queen, I'd have expected some bullets of that automatic fire to miss or go through and risk hitting John.
