So the mildly sore throat I had for the last two days? That was apparently my immune system fighting a loosing battle against something, since as of this morning I have a nasty, somewhat painful cough that doesn't do much to dislodge the gunk in my lungs, my noose is completely clogged and producing disgusting amounts of snot, my throat still hurts, and generally I feel like crap. Frell.

At least I don't feel crappy in that extreme sickness way that sometimes comes with a real flu, it's more of the moderate "bleargh, having a body can suck so much" kind, but well, it's not like you ever appreciate getting chosen by germs as a breeding ground.

Thanks. It's not so surprising I got that cough, considering how many people on public transport were coughing all through last week. Sometimes I think it would be maybe help if these facemasks were common here like in Japan. I mean, going out today I felt kind of bad about spreading my germs, too, but if I got a face mask I would look really weird and with me coughing others would probably think I had some kind of pestilence or the bird flu or something rather than a common cold... *g*

Have you tried echinacea, vitamin c, and zicam nasal swabs? It woorks! *hugs*

I don't have echinacea, because whenever I read about studies about it those seem to say it has no proven effect, so I never tried it myself, but I have been taking extra vitamin c (both in tablets and by drinking plenty rosehip tea) since I first felt that there might be a cold coming, and often that's enough for me to fight one of, but not this time.

I have no idea what zicam nasal swaps are, but my nose is somewhat prone to bleeding, especially when it produces snot, so frequently I get nosebleeds right now just from blowing my nose (though not nearly as bad as the occassional hours long nosebleeds I sometimes had before I noticed the pattern that they coincided with taking aspirin, since I'm apparently very susceptible to aspirin's blood-thinning properties or something). So I'm very reluctant to put anything more than a mild saltwater spray in my nose.
