Dresden Files fandom?

I'm kind of stuck with my drawing of Bob, so I'm procrastinating by looking for future posting venues. (Maybe somewhat prematurely... *kicks stupid drawing*)

So then I've wondered whether there was a Dresden Files newsletter around, preferably one including the book-side of the fandom, because I haven't watched the series (yet). I did an LJ interest search, but none of the communities seemed to be a newsletter or a noticeboard. And then being essentially a very lazy person I thought about just asking my f-list to point me into the right direction instead of further searching on my own, but just as I was typing this, it occurred to me that I should at least check the [livejournal.com profile] newbieguide for an entry on the Dresden Files as to not appear as a complete moron when asking my f-list. And in fact there is an overview of the Dresden Files fandom on LJ. Heh. It pointed me to the newsletter [livejournal.com profile] dresden_daily, which however for some reason doesn't list "Dresden Files" in its interests (or any interests really), explaining why it didn't pop up in my search. Also, it seems more weekly rather than daily, but that could be just because of fandom volume? I have actually no idea how large Dresden Files fandom is. I don't even know what the commonly accepted acronym is. DF?

Now I'm still wondering though, if there is an art community that isn't just for the tv series. I looked at [livejournal.com profile] dresden_art, but seems to be only for photomanips, icons, wallpapers and such, not traditional drawn fanart and illustrations for the books. At least I haven't seen any posted when browsing. Are there places where Dresden Files book fanart is posted?

Also, do any of you have (bookverse) fanfic recs, that would make my venturing into Dresden Files fandom easier? (I'm feeling the usual new fandom trepidation of venturing blindly into new communities where you don't recognize the any of the names and are generally clueless about that fandom. *g*)

The fandom was pretty quiet before the TV series came out, unfortunately. Its hard to find bookverse stuff.

DF is the commonly used acronym, but I've yet to see anyone decide on different acronyms for the Televerse and the Bookverse.
