Was anyone else annoyed that even though they talked the whole time about homeless victims who haven't been reported missing being just as important, the final victim who got rescued in the ep and whom we sympathized with as viewers was a mother with a baby and extended family (her own mother at least) who surely would have been reported missing, prostitute or not? It's not that I disliked her as far a victims go, but it felt like a cop-out somehow? Or is it just me feeling unreasonably grumpy?

No--I think it was a cop-out, not unlike Ripley needing to care for a cat and a child in order to be worth saving in the battle of the tough mamas in space.

One of the things I couldn't quite figure out is whether we were supposed to think she was drunk or on drugs when she was picked up. She said she was clean, I think, but she was weaving and seemed glazed.

Oh, and her teeth were far too white, which was distracting. Couldn't they have spent a moment's makeup on that?

Though on the "less grumpy" side of things, all the prossies wanted to give Reid a free ride (a comment in the show that I was torn between being annoyed by and finding hysterically funny).

I thought with "clean" she just meant that she had that health check for STD recently that she mentioned. And yeah, she seemed out of it when he picked her up.

(As an aside, I'm really unfamiliar with Alien since whenever I tried to watch the first I fell asleep before the good parts. I think I tried hree times...)
