this week's CSI:NY
I realize that I'm not in a great position to cast stones when it comes to using silly voodoo stereotypes for fun (point in case, see my "waving a dead chicken" computer icon), but what exactly was the point of including the two creepy voodoo ladies here?
I thought the zombie plot was rather cool overall and the whole ep nicely spooky, but I don't get why the guy included voodoo dolls in his insurance scam. I mean, when the voodoo doll stuff first showed up I thought he maybe did some crazy religious experiment, in which context the voodoo priestesses or whatever they were supposed to be would have made some sense, but then it turned out to be a mundane crime, so why include cringe-worthy stereotypes? And I didn't like Mac randomly threatening people because they decorate themselves with numbers either.
