Notes/comments: This was done for the yuletart gift exchange for tylercat. I'd also like to thank brown_betty for helping me to come up with a motif, when my initial idea didn't work out, and for taking a look at the half-finished stages, spotting problems with the rocks and such.

Once I finished it I was glad to have participated in the exchange, even though I procrastinated like crazy, and then had to draw it in a mad scramble to make the deadline. But I guess that's the way of such fests. *G*

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. And I'm working on another Temeraire drawing currently, one of Iskierka's hatching, so while I'm rather slow, there ought to be more eventually. (That one will be traditional media though, likely acrylics, as my pet rats ate the cable of my Wacom tablet...)

Thank you for commenting, I'm happy you like it even though you don't know the books. I drew the pencils quite large (on DINA3 format) before scanning, so the original file was huge, but it made drawing the details easier.

He is. Though I think for the size of the pearl to be like that you'd need to assume weird giant mussles existing alongside with dragons in that fictional universe. I mean, I looked at the description in the text, and then how large the largest actual pearl is, and well, in relation to how large these dragons are, it ought to have been smaller I think (even not thinking about the price of that huge a pearl), but then you wouldn't have been able to see it properly... (I worry about strange things. *G*)
