Time loops are one of my favorite plot devices, and this episode was just awesome. The way it mixed the funny with the angsty, tormented Sam, loosing Dean over and over again, then hunting the trickster on his own for months being *really* scary. and an obsessed hunter just like John, down to the motel walls with news clippings and such. Then Getting Dean back. The hugging! The protectiveness of not letting him out on the parking lot alone. *flail!*

And the trickster screwing with them was just great. First the increasingly bizarre deaths, then letting them out and getting Dean killed anyway. Impersonating Bobby. Just-- I can't list all the ways I loved this episode. Sam living through hundreds of Tuesdays getting grumpier and grumpier...

It's episodes like this that make me love SPN a lot.

If I didn't already love my show before, this episode would've made my heart grow three sizes. It was truly wonderful.

It was. I thought it was awesome how it started rather lighthearted, because Dean's deaths got more ACME like, and I thought it was just a fun episode, and then it was Wednesday, Dean got shot again, and it pulled the rug right out under me, with the montage of what Sam becomes without Dean.

I also wonder what effect the months alone he experienced will have on his hunting style and such. I mean, even if the show doesn't dwell there, that's awesome grounds for fanfic tags.
