some comments on the latest SGA ep

Not having watched any trailers I was unspoiled for Carson reappearing at the end, so that really took me by surprise. I mean, how did that happen? Did Michael clone him? I guess we'll find out eventually, for now I'm all: flail! Carson!

Otherwise, I'm not sure handing over their research to Todd won't come back to bite them later, even though they hope the Wraith will just kill each other with it, because their dubious science projects always seem to do. (see Michael, I mean, do they really want more mad scientist Wraith projects?) They tread kind of in the Ancients' footsteps that way, their science experiments are still killing people thousands of years later. Also, right now 30% of the people Michael infects die, but at least 70% can't be eaten afterwards, whereas by helping Todd to make his Wraith immune to the disease, still a third die, and but the rest will work as food again. That's not really helping the humans. Unless I missed something.

Still I liked that Michael reappeared, it worked for me how creepily obsessed with Teyla he is. I hope that storyline will come to good resolution, preferably one in which not all Athosians end up dead... Though I wondered what exactly he's been doing to the Athosians. Brainwashed them in addition to making them hybrid super-soldiers?

I loved Michael's Teyla obsession...she's like his monster's bride in his imaginary, I think...one like him to share...and a baby too!!! how fucking monstrous heteronormative!

Definitely creepy family building... I'm bad at keeping track of details of the plot lines, do you think he did somthing to the fetus in one of their previous encounters?

I'm not sure...weren't they together last before Teyla was pregnant?

I actually just thought that the fact that both parents have the Wraith sensing thingy makes the baby more hybrid as well...but that might be Earth logic :D

I don't recall, I'm so bad with these timelines and don't really rewatch either, but he acted so proprietary, that's why I wondered.

Not having watched the episode, I suspect they'll want to go that way, but it's going to take some hasty retconning: the last time they saw each other was in "Vengeance," which would have to be months before Teyla found out she was a month along in "Missing." (This would of course also be before Michael grabbed the Athosians, if I understand *that* timeline.)

Maybe he experimented on the Athosians before finally abducting them, and did something to the father? And Teyla didn't notice anything weird or alien abduction amnesia among the Athosians because she was in Atlantis a lot? Or maybe the connection to Teyla's child is only in Michael's mind, rather than him having done anything concrete.

I've been assuming that Michael experimented on Teyla while he had her captive and that the baby is a wraith larvae hybrid. I *know* the PTB aren't going to write in an infant for Teyla to actually have to raise and I figure that's going to be their 'magical pregnancy' plot. Like Sha'uri's son, like Vala's daughter. The 'baby' is going to grow up abnormally fast, then get kidnapped by Michael, then get totally forgotten about.

Yeah, chances for offspring in the SG universe are fairly bleak.
