The series continues to be awesome. I didn't suspect Riley to be also a future agent at all, but it fits. Poor John apparently doesn't get to know anyone closer who isn't a time traveler.

I like how there are plots within plots originating from different timelines. With time travel you would end up with a mess like this. I just hope they'll also manage to sort it out as well later, and it won't go the way of too many overly ambitious mytharcs. But so far I'm still optimistic about that.

Like everyone else I'm now suspicious of Jesse, though I don't think she's a bad guy as such. But if the plan is to get John less close to Cameron through Riley, I wonder whether that won't backfire. Because sooner or later John will find out about the setup and then the humans look bad for having manipulated him, while the Terminator was seemingly upfront and honest with him.

I really liked the scenes with John and Derek. I like their odd, yet kind of intense, dynamic in which the time travel twists the leader/parental figure dynamics around.

Also, I wonder what Ellison really thinks about Weaver and his work for her, because even if he doesn't know that she's a Terminator, he has to have noticed that she's somewhat creepy, and this ep she outright said she couldn't teach the AI even minimal ethics.

I think your lj-cut is messed-up; you might want to edit to fix that... :-)

Another thing about the Riley assignment that's interesting is what it says about the politics of the human resistance up the timeline. There are obviously factions. (f)John Connor is not in absolute control. Jesse and Riley's mission is one that's off the books and in the black.

I may hve misinterpreted, but it seemed to me that from what Jesse said to Derek that Cameron is still with (f)John in her timeline and has been through everything.

If the show can keep this up. Well. So far so good. Right now it and Criminal Minds are the best things on broadcast.

Riley was a plottwist I didn't expect. And I'm getting fascinated with Weaver's storyline. Why would she want to teach John Henry ethics and the 10 Commandments if she's trying to bring Skynet into existance?

Hmm. And maybe Weaver is from a future so far ahead that Skynet is really badly losing to the humans and this was a solution for a do-over that comes out a compromise? Dunno - just thinking out loud.

About Jesse, I don't know what to think about her and that is what makes this show so brilliant. All these ambiguous characters running around with their very good reasons for screwing our hero over.
