SGA canon questions

Because my memory is crap, do we ever see the team camping offworld, i.e. see what kind of tents they use and such, or is the offworld camping a pure fanon thing?

Unrelated, I remember the team sitting together in their mess hall in a couple of episodes, but I can't recall which those were. Argh. My memory, worse than a Swiss cheese.

Camping is completely fanon. It seems clear in Brotherhood that they're staying offworld over night, but in a local castle/monastery/whatever. Which makes sense, why shouldn't they commute home, if they're travelling beyond walking distance they use the jumpers.

Mess hall appearances off the top of my head: the end of McKay and Mrs. Miller, the end of Doppelganger, uh, end of the Traveller episode. There's a few more, and several where some of the team are there but not all.

1. I've no memory of the tents, but my memory of later seasons is sketchy.

2. Definitely in the one where Rodney's sister comes to Atlantis for the first time, and John and Rodney play chess in the mess hall in whichever episode is was where they'd been playing the game that turned out to be really taking place on another planet.

I kind of jumped ship halfway through season two *hides* but I don't recall them every actually being seen camping, although it had to have happened. I'm suprised at that, now that I think of it, because the team around the campfire and in tents? Comedy gold potential.

Yeah, it would have made for a good team scene.

I don't think we ever saw them camping (or SG1 either, despite a slew of fics).

There are several team-in-the-mess scenes in Doppelganger, one at the beginning after Teyla's dream and another after Keller's dream (this icon comes from one of them, I don't remember which), and one at the end. The episode "The Game" starts off with the team eating together. We also see them eating together at the end of Travelers, and together in the mess in "Tao of Rodney" if not actually eating together (John, Teyla and Ronon are, though). I think there were also a couple more -- I know there was at least one in season five -- but these are the ones I can remember.

No, we don't ever see them camping offworld. I'm pretty sure about this because I really, really wanted to see such a scene and would have squeaked with glee if we ever would have gotten one. :-)

Are you looking for a certain kind of mess-hall scene? Season 4 had a few IIRC and I liked them better than the earlier ones because the opened the mess hall to a balcony and I found this particularly nice.

Yeah, I've found a couple of screencaps from season 4 thanks to the previous comments. I didn't want a particular scene, just some pictures of them eating together for inspiration and potentially reference.
