So I just came across a story announcement for a WIP and it seemed interesting from the author's notes, but then the author referred to the part as "chappie". And no, just no. Don't do that. *sporks* (similarly "ficcy" should be forever banned as well)

AAAAAAHHHH I HATE THAT. *sporks it too* Few things make me less inclined to read a story than cutesy-poo contractions in the header notes. Including cutesy nicknames for characters ...

Yes. I would have checked it out but "chappie" is just so grating. Even if it wasn't a fairly reliable omen of bad things to come in the story, the word itself is so awful. It does not help that it is a well known dog food brand here either.

omg yes, piccy needs to go, definitely. I have never seen "wallie" myself, but if it truly exists for wallpaper it'll be outlawed as soon as I'm the absolute fandom dictator. Except maybe as a pun in WALL-E fandom...
