I gacked this from
glockgal, but the original empty template comes from Kamaniki at dA. The time span for chronicling art in this meme fit me well, because I started posting fanart in 2003, so I took it as a sign that I ought to be a memesheep.

I can only take partial credit for the hotness, because that Tim/Kon picture is closely based on a gay wallpaper image. It initally was just to practice using my tablet without a scanned pencil drawing, but I was completely losts without some kind of help, so I basically drew over a photo i my style, while of course adding the uniforms and changing faces a little too.
I really liked how it turned out but wasn't sure whether it would be seen as okay to post, so I did a poll, and most seemed to think yes, so I did, while of course linking the wallpaper in question in every place I posted it. I mean, I didn't want to end up on one of these strange threads you sometimes see on fandom wank and elsewhere about digitally drawn art someone posted that go "this fanart just looks like (celebrity) photo X! they are sucky, cheating plagiarists!"

That's what I did when I started drawing with a tablet, too, though I don't think I ever actually finished anything. It's good practise, and the colouring is the hard part of digital drawing, imo anyway. Hehe, wank avoidance, oh fandom. <3

Though I can't quite wrap my head around how those people think drawing/painting in general works, especially as fewer seem to mind when traditional media fanart is recognizably based partially or fully on screen caps or promo photos, though actually I've seen that in feedback to some traditional media fanartists too, that feedbackers complained how their art looked like they used photo references, and that they were somehow cheating or something. It was completely baffling.
