Criminal Minds is really reaching ever new lows this season. The viewing experience begins to remind me of how I held out through the last seasons of the X-Files in sheer determination.

I never did manage to hold out for the last couple of seasons of the X-Files. But the way CM is going, I can't imagine it will last that long. It is just sheer awfulness this season. At our house, I'm sitting in one corner of the couch going "Why can't you stop with the kink-shaming and the sexism, WHY?!" and my mother is sitting in the other going "Why is this so badly filmed? I can't understand why it's suddenly so badly filmed." It's mind-boggling how it got this bad.

Yes! And I can forgive a lot, but it is boring on top of the awfulness. And what little character stuff there was is getting dropped from episode to episode. Like we got that voodoo ep (and why did they have to do a voodoo ep?) where Reid worries about his mental health, and then that just vanishes.

I stopped at the end of Season 5, and judging from what st_aurafina says, I'm happy that I did. I really should have stopped halfway through Season 5. The character stuff is gone, they now victim-blame and have this weird thing about redeeming/forgiving abusive fathers.

Yeah, I can disagree with this. My completist tendencies do me no favor. I just often find it really hard to give up series once I was committed to them.
