mornings that suck worse than usual
My oven suddenly decided to stop working. At least the stove still functions, but the oven won't heat at all. Right when I was ready to bake myself something for breakfast too, and of course I didn't check whether my oven still worked before starting to prepare the food, so that's a loss too.
You mostly worked for almost 15 years, oven, why not hold out some time longer? Okay, the convection function stopped working a while ago, but still.
Appliances just shouldn't quit on you like that. :(

I called the landlord earlier, and they said I could go and pick out my next one myself and have them pay for that and the delivery/installation as well as the disposal of the old one, as long as I got the store to write the bill properly to the landlord and it stays under a reasonable limit (obviously they are not going to pay for a luxury appliance for me, but just a simple one).
The alternative would be that they'd send their usual electrician service to arrange everything, but then these people would pick the appliance, and it would be more service hours to pay for than usual with the store service, whereas if I arrange it myself I can probably pick a slightly better one and choose it myself for functions and look and still stay under the money limit. It's a bit more work for me, and I'm worrying a bit about getting a store to handle the bill like that, because I've never done that before (and apparently just reimbursing me to my checking account later is not as convenient an option for their bookkeeping, not to mention that it's easier for me too if I don't have to come up with the money to front the cost), but I'd rather pick out my kitchen appliance myself.
