Gmail, start working again! *kicks it*

My browser doesn't find the Gmail server when I try to go there, yet the Google status page says it's okay, and downrightnow.com claims it's up too just now, though a little while there was a "Possible Service Trouble", and downforeveryoneorjustme.com says mail.google.com is down. So maybe it isn't just me, but either way, I want it to work again.

I can get into it but either I haven't received any emails for six hours or it's not actually sending/receiving mail.

I've been having trouble reaching it for about five hours now. It worked okay (with getting mail) until about nine in the evening here for me.

Today's World IPv6 day. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Personally, I've been able to access it from home and work all day.

I thought about that, but when I clicked on one of google's test pages linked from their blog post about this, it told me I was okay for the IPv6 test, in so far that while my connection only has IPv4, the dual mode sites work for me with no downgrade glitches.

But I suppose something must be odd on my end, because I still can't reach Gmail, yet I suspect if that was happening for many users, they'd have fixed it by now. But I have no idea what could be wrong, because my internet connection works otherwise, and I can reach google, and log into their other services, like google docs for example with my account. It's really annoying.

ETA: Though looking at the German language google help forum at least a couple of other German Gmail users seem to have the same problem since last night, so maybe it's some sort of localized problem.

I had that problem yesterday, but it went away when I restarted my browser.

For be restarting my router eventually fixed it, but it was very annoying until it occurred to me to try that. I mean, who can the DNS lookup for just one site get messed up?
