where does the Bucky Bear thing even come from?

I know that Bucky Bear appears in that Marvel A-Babies vs. X-Babies crack (though I haven't read the comic), but is that the first and only "canon" (well some variety of official source anyway) with Bucky Barnes teddybear merchandise and fandom just really ran with it, as fandom does, or does it appear anywhere else?

That's the first and only appearance to my knowledge.

Bucky Bear also appears in an issue of the Winter Soldier solo book (I think it's the last issue?) as Bucky Bear brand honey, though it's also possible that Bucky's still in the hallucination/time loop thinger. I can't find the panel, but Bucky's sitting all broody at a table and there's a container of honey shaped like a Bucky Bear on the table next to him. That was after A-Babies vs. X-Babies, so it was probably just an injoke/callback, but you can take it as Bucky Bear (and subsequent products) existing in 616.

Then there's the time Bucky wrestled a bear in Siberia... oh comics.

Someone else might come along with better information, but I'm pretty sure it's from A-Babies vs X-Babies, and fandom just latched onto it because it was cute (and happened to tie in really well with the idea of Steve and Bucky being famous enough to have their own merchandise/toys in the MCU).
