weather griping, again

August shouldn't be a month in which you have to huddle under a blanket for warmth, not in the Northern hemisphere and far out from the Arctic anyway. And yet here I am. Under a blanket.

I've resorted to wearing thermal underwear as sleepwear too (rather than just a t-shirt as I usually do in summer), because two nights ago I woke up cold and shivering.

Thanks to my regular weather complaints here I realize it actually is not that unusual (I complained about even colder temperatures in August 2011) but I'm still grumpy.

I'd like some nice temperatures with pleasant highs in the upper mid-20s, balmy nights and some sun. Weather should be tradeable, like I'm sure that say Portugal would be happy right now to take our excess rain and give some five to ten degrees in warmth, then we could have pleasant temperatures in the mid-20s and not be soggy, and they could get some rain against their horrific fires and not have a heat wave anymore.

...yeah, cold is not really a problem here at the moment. Today we could siphon off 10 degrees (F, obviously) your direction and still be comfortably 85°F. And that's BEFORE the humidity wandering between 60 - 90%. We may actually get rain tonight, but we've had maybe 2" total since the beginning of June, so feel free to ship some along!

Urgh. I hate extreme heat more than cold, so I pretty much feel like dying if it is 35°C (or 95°F) but I don't want to wear thermal underwear in summer either. There was some headline in a local paper that right now it is colder than it was last Christmas -- which admittedly was a very warm December day with lows of 11°C and now we had lows around 9°C in the early morning hours, but still. That just seems messed up.

It's too bad we are still so far from developing weather control systems...

Ah, i remember how i was bitching that day. but today made up for some of that though, no? :-)

Yes, though it was (almost) too warm for me. I have a narrow comfort range, lol. But it stayed under 30° here and it wasn't too muggy, so it still got a thumbs up.
