this is getting annoying

Is there a way to unsubscribe from the repeated AO3 fundraising E-Mails?

I get that they need money to run, but frankly mailing me more than once on top of the persistent banner that won't stay away after clicking it closed, is not making me more likely to donate to them.

Have you been getting more than one per drive?

As far as I know, they only send one per account per drive (twice per year, one in April, one in October), and that's it - that's all I've ever gotten.

If you're getting more than one email per membership drive, either you have multiple accounts linked to that email, or something's gone wrong.

Huh, I've only ever gotten one per drive the entire time the AO3 has existed, whether I'm a member at the time or not (including this time - I got one on the 11th, and that's it.)

If you get a third one I'd say it's worth sending in a support ticket.

I popped my head in the devmem staff chat just to make sure I'm not talking nonsense, and they said if they have two different subject lines, one of them is for current donors only and one is for users, and the donors only one should have an unsubscribe link in it.

If they both had the same subject line and were for the same account, that was due to the email issues they had the other day, they apologize and you shouldn't get any more until next spring.

(I just had to unsubscribe from half a dozen US politics orgs because they wouldn't stop sending fundraising appeals literally once a day all year, so I am very invested in OTW not ending up like that!)

That's strange that you're getting a lot --I did get two, but I didn't look at them closely. I think it had to do with the server hiccup they had yesterday--I didn't get my kudos email, sad and pathetic as it was, and I finally had a fic comment after like weeks and weeks, which I didn't receive until late at night. I looked at their twitter feed and they said there was a mail server issue and they'd poked it. That's my theory, anyway.

I don't do twitter, but if you go to the AO3 home page when something weird is happening, there's a box with latest otw tweets for updates (as far as I know, it's the only way to see them unless you're actually on twitter). So whenever something happens, I look there first, though they don't always do that right away or it's obviously something only I'm having.

I'm not sure which browser you use, but I've never had the bar come back unless I was completely logged out. But I tend to leave my browsers open, logged in, and sleep the computer rather than turn it off, when I'm working a lot.

I got a donation request the day after I donated, so I assume there might be something going wrong in that part of their system.
