So, I've decided that I'm too lazy to start the drawing I mentioned yesterday all over again, and that I'm not embarrassed enough by its problems to not post the result of a few hours work (yeah, I know, it's kind of pathetic how long it takes me to produce one measly sketch). And anyway, maybe it'll be less noticeable once it's colored...

It's an illustration for the epilogue of betbethbeth's Snape/Kingsley story In From the Cold (which you should all read, it's really great and not at all crackfic as you might fear from the fact that my illustration shows Snape in the Caribbean, wearing a shirt with parrots...).

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. :) I hope it'll improve with the color, though coloring will take a while (I'm not really fast with this stuff...)

I was in a total "argh, it sucks so bad!" funk last night, but looking at it again today I decided to just get over myself and stick with it anyway, so I'm really happy that it works for you.

I mean, especially with HP I always feel totally inept, because there are so many fabulous fanartists in that fandom, you know?

Oh, I know what you mean...HP does have a ton of wonderful artists.

But the setting is *exactly* what I imagined for Kingsley's grandparents' house...and Snape looks as relaxed as I hoped he would (although he *does* have a smaller belly than epilogue!Snape *G*) Plus? It's for me!!

When I read that epilogue I was immediately smitten with the image of Snape in that outfit, and just had to draw it. It's one of those things you can't really imagine (outside of humor anyway) unless a story takes you there and makes you see it. And I'm happy to hear you like it too. :)

When I reread the epilogue I noticed that I had actually misread the sentence and it was Kingsley wearing that parrot shirt... *facepalm* Well, I really like the idea of Snape in that outfit anyway. I guess I have just to assume that they share clothes occassionally, or something. ;)
